Kath Davis
Kath has been teaching since 1995 in physical therapy clinics, studios, community centers, and colleges. She has worked with a broad range of individuals, from children to senior citizens--some badly injured, others Olympics-bound. Her interest in teaching lies in helping students unlock the potential of the interconnected body-mind-spirit. She believes that Yoga has many gifts to offer, including health, ease, strength, clarity, vigor, and peacefulness.
Her journey in this realm began over twenty years ago, when she studied dance and Asian philosophy in college. She earned a BA in Dance from Scripps College, in 1993; and received several teaching certifications in Pilates from Performing Arts Physical Therapy/The Pilates Studio, Romana's Pilates, and Authentic Pilates, throughout the 1990's. In 1996-97, she participated for one year in a graduate program in Dance at Mills College, where she studied kinesiology and pedagogy in depth. In 2005, she completed the Advanced Studies Program at Piedmont Yoga Studio; and in 2009, the Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
Kath continues to practice the yogic discipline of svadhyaya (self-study/self-investigation) under the tutelage of Georg Feuerstein, one of the world's leading authorities on Yoga.
